On the occasion of the 2006 German World Cup, the Ministry of Information and Communication has prepared the event in order to support Korean and German soccer teams and strengthen the cooperation in the IT industry between Germany and Korea.
Korea and Germany have maintained close relationships in a variety of industries for a long period time. In particular, IT companies from the two countries have been working more closely than ever before. The recent adaptation of Korean Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) technologies by Germany is one of representative examples to show such a trend.
